Public Skate Sessions
Weekdays: Monday - Friday
9:30-11:30am, 11:45am - 2:15pm, 2:30-5:00pm (5:30pm on Fridays)
Evenings: Friday & Saturday 7-10 PM**
Weekends: Saturday & Sunday 2:30-5:15 PM**
**There will be an Ice cut during these sessions if needed (afternoon around 3:45-4:00pm and evening around 8:15-8:30pm)
PLEASE NOTE: No afternoon (2:30-5pm) session on 12/4.
No evening (7-10pm) session on 12/5.
Special Holiday Schedule during late Nov. - early Jan. More details by mid-November.
Rates Per Session
Season Passes are available ONLY to members of the Recreation Partnership. City and Town of Ithaca Residents receive an additional resident discount. Passes may be purchased at Cass Rink and the Ithaca Youth Bureau during regular business hours. All NEW pass applicants must be present to receive their photo pass and have proof of residency.
Toddlers (10 months up to 3 yrs)
Student (13-17) or Senior (60+):

Learn to Skate Lessons
Cass Park offers two series of lessons. The 1st series starts October 27th. The second starts the middle of January. All lessons are 25 minutes in length unless otherwise noted. The cost of lessons includes the public skating admission for the session during which the lesson is given for the lesson registrant. NOTE: Tots & Beginner classes will be requiring a helmet for participation. All other levels a helmet is strongly recommended. Lessons do not require figure skates - hockey skates are permitted, but double blade skates are not. Skates may be rented at the park at regular $3 rental fee. TOTS ages 3-5
**A helmet will be required for participation**
Skills taught in these lessons include standing and balancing, marching and gliding on two feet, one foot glide, proper pushing technique, beginning snow plow stop, forward and backward swizzles, backward wiggles, two foot hop.
TOTS 1: for children with little or no previous skating experience. There is a limit of 5 in these lessons.
TOTS 2: for children who have had some experience on ice and can balance and stand unassisted (usually, but not always have had lessons previously). There is a class limit of 6 in these lessons.
CHILDREN ages 6-15
BEGINNER: **A helmet will be required for participation**
for children with little or no previous skating experience. Skills taught in these classes are: basic forward skating, 2 foot glide, 1 foot glide, forward swizzle, backward swizzle, backward wiggle, beginning snow plow stop.
ADVANCED BEGINNER: for skaters who have mastered the skills taught in BEGINNER. skills taught in these classes are: forward and backward skating, forward crossovers, 2 foot turns, snow-plow stop, hockey stop.
ADULTS ages 16 & up
BEGINNER: for those adults who had little or no experience on the ice. (We will conquer any fears you may have). The skills taught in these classes are basic forward and backward skating, basic stops. Forward crossovers and other skills at discretion of instructor.
INTERMEDIATE: for those who have mastered the basic skills of ice skating (persons are comfortable on the ice). The skills taught in these classes are proper techniques for forward and backward skating, backward crossovers, various stops, three turns, Mohawks and various other more advanced skills.
Adult & Child Specialty Classes
INTRO TO FIGURE SKATING: for intermediate skaters who want to learn some basic figure skating skills. Skaters will be introduced to some basic jumps, spins, and turns, as well as improving forward/backward skating, crossovers and stops.
NEW!!! SKATING BASICS FOR HOCKEY (ages 5+): Improve you hockey by improving your skating techniques by learning & improving the fundamentals of crossovers, stops & turns to build a better game.
All lesson registration should be completed at least 24 hours in advance for us to determine whether the class has the minimum to start. Please call first if there are less than 24 hours until the class start time.
Adult & Child Beginner Skating Lessons
Learn to skate with your child whether it is yours, your grandchild, your niece/nephew, cousin, mentee etc (minimum 3 years old) during 4 weeks of lessons in November and December on Mondays (Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, or Nov 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21) or Fridays (Oct. 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20). Twenty-five minute joint lesson with other adult/child pairs, minimum of 3 groups per time to run. Class start times at 4:00, 4:30 & 5:00 PM depending on the class day selected.
NOTE: Adult and child must be in lessons together.

Special Skate Nights - beginning October 23rd
Join us on our opening day, Friday, October 23rd & periodic nights throughout the season for some specials. More details will be posted on our Facebook page in October and throughout the season.
Skate with Santa - December 19th & 20th
Santa will be here at Cass 4- 5pm on the ice to greet children with a special surprise.
New Years Eve Skate - December 31st
Ring in the New Year at Cass Park on December 31 from 9:00pm - 12:30am. There will be free noisemakers, popcorn and hot cocoa for all. More details will be posted on our Facebook Page in December.
SPECIAL ADMISSION RATES WILL BE IN EFFECT!
NO passes of any kind (Season or other) will be accepted for the event.
Alcohol is prohibited!
Don't want to clean, set-up, and then clean again in your home! Bring your party here and let our party package does it all for you! We do the clean up & set-up & order the food.

Then complete form & submit with $40 deposit to reserve your date/time.
The rink is available on a limited first come, first serve basis (late October through early March) for Broomball, Exclusive Group Skate, or Rec Hockey (own full equipment is required). All reservations have a 1 hour minimum and must fit around the current facility schedule of public skate sessions, regular league reservations and availability of staff, so we cannot guarantee the date and time which you request.
Skate sharpening is available during the rink season for both figure and hockey skates. If dropped off before noon, then they are ready for pick up after 5 p.m. If they are dropped off after noon, then they are ready for pick up after 5 p.m. the following day.
